Today, August 14th, is our 1st wedding anniversary.
On a first anniversary the "gift" to your partner is suppose to be paper--which could be a card, a letter, etc. I heard Neil the other day talking with his son about what kind of "paper" gift he was going to give me. I walked in the room and joined the conversation and told him I had heard what he said. He told Kevin that he was going to make me a card out of a paper plate. I told him that if that be the case then it has to be pretty and meaningful, (LOL knowing my husband it would be in a very funny way). He said if I didnt watch it he was going to go another route. He said, "Toilet paper is paper too". I said fine, but it has to be tied in a bow around something like the card made out of the paper plate. He said, "Now your just getting greedy".
We have such a great time together and its a major plus that we both have a great sense of humor.
This morning when I got up I found a paper plate on my computer that said "I LOVE YOU HAPPY ANNIVERSARY". I thought that was really sweet (and I was really glad I didnt get any toilet paper). Next it was my turn to give him something so I turned the plate over that he gave me and wrote back "I LOVE YOU RIGHT BACK, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY". We then got dressed to go out on the Harley and we headed for Linda's Cafe for breakfast (he said he didnt want me cooking on our anniversary--awww how sweet). After breakfast we went for a short ride on the bike.
I love him so much. We have shared a wonderful day together.
I hope you have a love in your life that you can share things like this with whether its a best friend, family, or the love of your life. Dont forget to laugh with them and love them, because tomorrow may not come.
Have a glorious day!!!

Life is good
Living here in this nature setting is like being on vacation. Neil mentioned that the other day and I said " I was just thinking that, but instead of just the bare essentials we packed the whole house, lol. Every day we see wildlife in our back yard. It's wonderful and yet a little spooky especially at night, because you can feel the eyes on you but it's so dark you can't see them without a flash light. So cool!

I've missed you
Life has been crazy the past couple months. We sold the trailor, moved to an apartment-which for some reason doesn't have phone jacks (??), still looking for a job and loving life. I do hope that someday soon we will start getting orders on our website sandersgifts.com. I realize the economy stinks right now. I am going to try and start writing on here regularly so you can help me by sharing your thoughts and such. Send me a message at sandersgifts14@yahoo.com and tell me one of your stories and I will post it on here. I hope everyone is doing well!!
Take care and as always have a glorious day!!

Wow! Dreams really can come true!!
When I sit and think of my life long dreams I always have a hesitation of ever believing any of them will come true. It like that song, "I Dreamed a Dream" sang by Susan Boyle (the link is below). I always wondered what it would actually feel like to have a dream come true.
My first dream came true with the birth of my son, Robert. I always wanted a little boy. They are so much more fun than girls (no offense intended). Boys dont mind getting dirty, they dont scream all the time, if they fall they get back up and try again more so than little girls.. I just think they are more fun--thats my opinion. I had my son when I was 24. Years before that I prayed to God to have a son before I turned 25. My son was born in February, 1991 and I turned 25 a few months later. When I asked God for a son I told him that it really didnt matter to me if the Dad stuck around or not. I just wanted a son. I divorced his Dad in '94 for reasons not worth mentioning because that's not important. What's important is my boy. We had lots of fun as he grew up. He and I learned a lot together about "growing up". He is 19 now, graduated from high school last year, and I have been told that he is a fine young man (even if he dresses funny). What I mean by that is he likes to wear a lot of black--no he isnt the gothic type--he has funky hair styles. We pick on each other all the time; I call him a "freak" and he calls me "Old Lady" and we laugh. We have such a good relationship that we know we are NOT saying those words to hurt each other, but you should see the reaction of other people when we talk like that in public, OMG LMAO. It's hilarious. I hope and pray that one day all of his dreams will come true just like mine did. Mine took a while and he has been with me the whole way so he knows that there might be struggles, there might be anger and sadness, but in the end "Things will get better" as my Mom always said.
The second one came true when I met my husband Neil back in 2004. I fell in love with him on our first date. Our date consisted of: my sister, her husband Scott who is also Neil's best friend, Neil and I--we all went out to a local bar to hang out and get to know one another. The guys played pinball while we watched. During this time we were all talking, laughing, joking, picking on each other--just having a blast. We left there after about 2 hours. Next, I rode with Neil in his truck to a local bowling alley that same night. Neil was such a gentleman--he opened the truck door for me when I got in and out, when we were walking he gently put his hand on my lower back, he talked to me like an equal and he treated me with such respect that I wasn't sure if he was for real or not. While we were bowling we laughed and talked some more. I didnt know until half way through the first game that Neil was extremely good at bowling. (he said he was just "ok"). After two games we all decided to call it a night. Neil gave me a ride to my apartment and I invited him in for coffee. We sat in my kitchen for 5 hours and talked of our lives, shared a couple secrets and of course laughed some more. Just before he was going to leave he went to use my restroom and when he came back into the kitchen he surprised the heck out of me. I was standing by the kitchen counter when he came around the corner. I looked up at him and he had this look in his eyes and determination in his walk that told me he was on a mission. He walked right up to me, slowly put my face in his hands and gave me the most passionate kiss I have ever had in my entire life. I melted right there. Everytime I think about it I can see him doing this. Shortly after that I said it was time for him to go and he asked if he could spend the night and I told him I wasnt ready for that. I was surprised when he didnt push the issue or argue or anything. He said ok and asked me to walk him out which I did. I fell in love with Neil that night. He is the only man that I have ever known that has treated me with respect, never judged me for my past or how I think and act (I've been told that I am opinionated and too honest), he treats me like a lady and he loves me unconditionally. I proposed to him on our 6 month anniversary and you can guess his answer because he is now my husband.
My third dream will be coming true on May 14, 2010--I WILL BE GRADUATING COLLEGE with honors (GPA 3.91 as of January 2010). I will write more on this later. I have school work to do. While your waiting check out the link below. You may have to copy and paste it in your browser.
Take care and have a glorious day.

How do you help?
When do you feel that life is at its best? Is it when you have no health issues. Or you have the job of your dreams. Maybe it's when you have had no problems of any kind for a long time.
My opinion: I think life is at its best for me when myself and my family are healthy, bills can be paid with no problem, there's food in the cupboards and refrigerator, and there's love all around.
I know what its like not to have some of that. I used to live in low income housing and could barely support myself and my son. When we lived there we knew there were other people just like us that couldn't afford things and we tried to help the best we could. Even though we had a hard time (even with county help) we still took a few things from our cupboards and donated it to area food shelters. These things were not out dated or whatever. These non-parishable items were things we bought for us, but we gave them away to help others. Any time I can I try to help those in need just like others helped me and my son for so many years. I will continue to do this because I have been there. (If you have never seen the movie "Pay It Forward" try)
If you know someone that "doesn't have" you can help. However, if they don't like to receive help then maybe try this--take a paper bag and fill it with non-parishable food items and drop if off on their door step with a note that says "To You at their address". Don't put their name or your name on it or anything. I know a lot of people that get upset when they "get help". I know its their pride or they may feel embarrassed, but dropping it off without telling them will do a couple things. 1. They will get the help they need. 2. They won't know who did it. 3. You helped someone in need. That is such a great feeling.
I hope you and your family are healthy, well fed, and financially comfortable. May God bless you and yours.
Have a glorious day.

When was the last time you smiled?
Ask yourself this question--What makes me smile? Could it be the colors of a sunrise. A babies laugh. Good conversation with a best friend. Personal time with your honey. Whatever the case may be it's a great feeling isn't it?
I do know a couple people that don't like to smile. They feel is means they are weak or even sentimental when their not. I say SO WHAT!! Smile--relieve some of that tension that shows in your face day after day. Take the time and find ways that make you happy and put a smile on your face because living in a world of doom and gloom is no fun and very depressing. That kind of life style can be detrimental to your health.
So do me this one favor, SMILE DANG IT and make someone else smile today too--you will feel much better if you do.
Now have a glorious day. Thanks again for stopping by.
